He was the son of popular businessman Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata and his wife Suzanne Brière. His mother was the first woman in Indian to drive a car and, in 1929, he became the first licensed pilot in India. She was India's first woman Chief Minister , serving as the head of the Uttar Pradesh government from 1963 to 1967. It was a remarkable feat given the small number of women in politics during her time, and she maintained a reputation for being a firm administrator.  Early Life Sucheta was born on 25th June 1908 in Ambala, Haryana , into a progressive Brahmo family.
